After Montreal, we flew to Munich, and then to Mumbai. On the last bit of the plane ride, Jenn and I start to discuss changing our flight to have an overnight stopover in Frankfurt (instead of the 4 or 5 hours that we have now) on the way back. Flying this long is pretty brutal. After 31 hours of flying and a lot of air sickness on my part (or so I thought - many days later I realized that my anti-malaria medication (doxycycline) was in fact making me extremely ill), we reached our destination.
We arrive in Mumbai at 12:30AM even at this time it is surprisingly hot and humid... And monsoon season has definitely started. With some difficulty, we finally get out of the rain and take a taxi to a hotel in a very sketchy area of town that was for whatever reason rated very highly on Trip Advisor.
What have we gotten ourselves into.
